Medical Society Dinner

6th November 2009

The annual dinner for Exonians who read Medicine or Physiology or who now practise Medicine was held in College on Friday 6th November. This event provided an opportunity for Old Members to return to College, catch up with old friends and meet Exeter’s current medics. The evening included a drinks reception, talk by guest speaker Professor Carol V Robinson FRS and a formal dinner in Hall.

Over 60 people attended the event, including matriculands from the 1940s through current students who matriculated in 2009. The great success of the evening is due to the superb organisation of Aamir Saifuddin (2005), who planned the Medical Society Dinner for the third consecutive year.

Speaker Profile:
Professor Carol V Robinson FRS is a renowned chemist who has made major advances in the application of mass spectroscopy to the analysis of proteins and other large molecules. She is transferring her Royal Society Research Professorship at Cambridge University to Oxford’s Department of Chemistry where she will be associated with Exeter College and subsequently become the Dr Lee’s Professor of Chemistry.
