German Old Members and Friends can make their gift to the College tax-efficient via the 'German Friends of Oxford University e.V', a body that is on the association register ("Vereinsregister") of the local court of Düsseldorf under VR 6942. The German Friends of Oxford have the status of a charity and are therefore entitled to issue to any donor a confirmation of donation ("Zuwendungsbestätigung") pursuant to § 50 EStDV (Income Tax Implementation Order), which entitles the donor to deduct the amount donated from his/her taxable income in Germany.

Therefore, if you generate taxable income in Germany you may donate to the College either by sending a cheque to

You will need to enclose a letter specifying that you would like your gift to go to Exeter College and your donation preference (if any). The German Friends of Oxford will issue you with a tax receipt. Your donation will then be transferred to the College via the University of Oxford Development Trust.
