Matched Giving

For donors in the USA and Canada, it has long been the practice for employers to 'match' the contributions made by their employees directly to charitable organisations. This scheme is known as a Corporate Matching Gift Programme. In most instances, employers will match employees' gifts £ for £ (or $ for $); in other instances it will be a half match or even a double match as given by the employee.
Some major employers in the UK (especially corporations with HQs in the USA or Canada, or global companies) now have Matching Gift Programmes. Employers generally match employees' single donations, although not necessarily Banker's Orders.
When you make a gift to Exeter, it is always worth asking your employer if they have a Matching Gift Programme (your Accounts or Human Resources Division should be able to help). If so, you would simply get a form from your employer to complete. Donors in the UK and Canada should send this form directly to Exeter for processing along with their donation form. For donors in the USA, when making a gift to Exeter through Americans for Oxford, Inc., you would simply enclose a corporate matching gift form which is provided by your employer. Americans for Oxford, Inc. can accept all tax-deductible contributions from corporate matching gift programs. For further information about Americans for Oxford, Inc. and tax-efficient ways of making a gift in the USA please see our Tax & Gift Aid information.
