Catalogue & Classification

The Catalogue

All books on the open shelves in the Library are catalogued on the Oxford University Union Catalogue, SOLO - Search Oxford Libraries Online. This catalogue also contains the catalogues of the Bodleian, the faculties, and many other Oxford libraries. It can be consulted from any computer by using your Oxford single sign-on. Some of the Exeter College early printed books are only recorded in the card catalogue, which is located in the Library entrance. However there is currently (May 2010) a project ongoing to catalogue these books on to SOLO.

The Classification

The Library uses the Bliss Bibliographic Classification to arrange its hardcopy collection.
