Reverend Mr Stephen Hearn

The Chaplain’s primary focus is the welfare of students, staff and Fellows of the College, and he is available to all members of College, whatever their religious beliefs or background. He also supervises the life of the Chapel and the College Choir.
Mr Hearn read English at Lincoln College, Oxford. He trained for the priesthood at St Stephen’s House where he read second degree in Theology, after which he was a visiting student in Rome. Before coming to Exeter he was curate of Market Deeping in the south of Lincolnshire. In addition to his welfare role and oversight of the Chapel, he is pursuing research into the use of theological ideas in eighteenth and nineteenth century American literature.
