Dr Peter Johnson

Peter returned to Oxford after many years working as a strategy consultant, first with Bain & Company, then as the first non-founding partner of the LEK Partnership. As a strategy consultant he worked internationally for FTSE 100, Fortune 500, and CAC 40 multinationals on all aspects of corporate and business unit strategy. He helped to grow LEK from 6 to 350 employees operating in eleven countries and set up LEK's Paris office. Peter sits on the board of a number of small companies. He is the founder of Venturefest Oxford, the business fair for technology and knowledge-based start ups. Peter has also assisted private offices and a US hedge fund on investment strategy, performance measures and hedging. From 2000-2001 and 2004 to 2007 he was the Finance and Estates Bursar for Exeter Colleg, and 1997 - 2000 amember of the Executive of the SAID Business School.
He teaches entrepreneurship, new business development, strategy and valuation. His research is concerned with (i) valuation models which integrate finance and strategic measures of business performance which are well captured by current accounting systems and conventions; (ii) with the relationships between structural features and strategic performance measures for businesses classified by strategic segmentation; (iii) formal theories of business model mechanics.
Peter has an MA and a D.Phil in Physics and Philosophy from Oxford University and an MA in Philosophy of Science and an MBA from Stanford University.
