Help & Support

If you require help, assistance or simply have a question related to Computing during your time at Exeter College and within the university, there are a number of options available to you.
Within College you can either visit the Computing Staff in Palmer's Tower or write to them via the email address it-help@exeter.ox.ac.uk. They are available during office hours, Monday to Friday and are happy to offer advice and assistance as required.
If the problem is related to College equipment then it is useful to know:
- Date and time that the problem occurred
- The computer you were using (there should be a name label on each computer - e.g. DellU23)
- Your username (i.e. your login name)
- What happened in as much detail as you can give us
In addition to the College Computing Department, the Oxford University Computing Services (OUCS) also offer support to its members and the OUCS website can be a great source of information and help, particularly the Welcome to IT pages. The site details solutions to the most commonly encountered problems as well as offering advice on a large number of IT areas from viruses to the importance of data back-up.
Another excellent service provided by the University is the OUCS Help Centre. The Help Centre is located on the ground floor of the OUCS buildings at 13 Banbury Road, Oxford, OX2 6NN and is open from 8:30am to 8:30pm Monday to Friday and offers a number of services including repairs. Further information on the Help Centre can be found here.
