Scholarships

Exeter College is delighted to offer a range of Scholarships for students wishing to undertake postgraduate study at the College. Many of these have been funded by Old Members and Friends of the College and are listed below.

Some of these Scholarships are linked to University Clarendon Awards. More information on these awards and how to apply for them is available here.

Scholarships Available for Entry in 2012/13

SKP Scholarship (Pathak Scholarships)

Full Scholarship (full recommended living allowance - £13,590 pa) linked to a University Clarendon Award (full fees) for a postgraduate student from India. Available for up to three years.

Hugh and Dorothy Usher Cunningham Studentship in History

Usher Cunningham Scholarship in Medical Sciences

The College, in association with the Department of Biochemistry, expects to elect to an Usher Cunningham Studentship for graduate work in Oxford in Medical Sciences.

The Studentship would be tenable from 1 October 2012 for one year, renewable for a further two years and would pay full fees plus a grant for maintenance at the Medical Research Council rate for Home and EU students.

Applicants must be or become members of Exeter College. The successful candidate must also be accepted by the Department of Biochemistry to read for a postgraduate degree in medical science.

Applicants wishing to be considered for this studentship MUST indicate this on their University application form. No separate application to the college is necessary as the Department of Biochemistry will nominate the top ranked students for this award.

Arthur Peacocke Studentship

Full Scholarship (UK/EU College and University Fees plus full recommended living allowance - £13,590 pa in 2011-12) for a postgraduate student reading for a degree in Science and Religion based in the Faculty of Theology. Available for up to three years.

Kufuor Scholarship

Linked to a University Clarendon Award (full fees with £5,750 pa living allowance) for a postgraduate student from Ghana. Available for a minimum of one year. If no suitable applicant is awarded a Clarendon Bursary the living allowance can be awarded as a stand alone scholarship.

Santander Scholarships

The College in conjunction with the University is offering two one-year studentships for students accepted onto a two-year M Phil course or a one year MSt/MSc course in any subject. The value of the scholarship is £10,000. To be eligible the student must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. No separate application form is required but you must indicate on your University application form that you wish to apply for this scholarship and name Exeter College as your preferred College.

Mahoney-Winston Churchill Scholarship

This scholarship is open to American students researching Sir Winston Churchill and is available for a maximum of three years; fees at Home/EU rate plus £10,000 per year living allowance (approximately £17,000 per year in total).

The Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Scholarship

1,00,000 Rupees for a student from India wishing to study for a BCL.

Dr Mrs Ambriti Salve Scholarship

Full Scholarship linked to a University Clarendon Award (full fees) for a student from India wishing to study for a BCL, with a possible second year's funding if the holder then goes on to an M Phil.

The Rivka Carmi Scholarship

Full Scholarship (combined University and College fees up to a maximum of £17,000 per year) and a living allowance of £15,000 per year for graduates of Gurion University of the Negev to undertake either master or doctoral studies in any subject. The scholarship is available for a maximum of three years.
