The Lodge

The Lodge staff endeavour through their knowledge to provide an information service for all staff and students.
Throughout the year all sorts of social activities take place, some of which, listed below, need to be booked at the Lodge
During Term Time

If you want to hold a party in your room, organise a Bop or other event held in the college, you will need to complete a event permission for the Junior Dean to approve.

The Squash Courts at our Sports Ground off the Marston Road.

Register your bicycle by obtaining a tab from the Lodge and entering your name and college address on it and fixing it under your bicycle saddle. The Maintenance Department will record the information.

Playing field sports at our college Sports Ground is booked by the various team Captains with the Groundsman. Keys to the Sports Ground can be drawn at the Lodge providing that person has signed the Sports Ground Protocol regarding the use of the facilities, also obtained from the Lodge.
During Trinity Term

You can take a Punt out on the river for two or three hours; however you must have paid a Punt membership fee to the 'Admiral of the Punts' for the term. (Weeks 1 — 9)

Play Croquet in the Fellows garden from 13.30 hours until 18.00 hours, a £5 deposit is required and returned on the return of the equipment. (Weeks 0 — 9)
Tennis courts have to be booked at Hertford College.
Maintenance Book
In the event of any electric faults, plumbing requirements or other work that requires maintenance, entries must be made in the Maintenance book held in the Lodge to get the faults rectified.
Post
All post is collected from the Lodge. Items too big for your pigeonhole will be kept in the Lodge and a slip informing you of the parcel will be placed in your pigeonhole. Registered Mail will be signed for before being collected by the student.
Internal Pigeon Post
Mail for other colleges is collected and delivered several times a day, however the Messenger will not collect large parcels, or parcels containing foodstuffs or clothing.
Handing in Work
Your piece of work should have both your name and that of the receiving Tutor on it.
Laundry Tokens
Laundry tokens for washing and drying clothes are supplied in the Lodge — eight tokens for £10.
Lockers
Lockers are available for undergraduates who live out of College, and are located underneath the JCR. They are free to use, however there is a £10 returnable deposit on the return of the key.
Property left in lockers after the student has left, will be removed and the lock changed.

Lost Property
Should you lose or misplace your property it may find its way to the Lodge.
College Memorabilia
Various college items are sold at the Lodge ranging from a lapel pin to a bottle of Port or Wine. A list of items is kept in the Lodge.
