All Alumni are welcome back to Exeter College for the Annual Symposium, which this year will be focused on the theme ‘Education & Equality’ and held at Cohen Quad on Walton Street.

11am Welcome from the Rector, Professor Sir Rick Trainor

11.15am The History of Education & Social Mobility – Christina De Bellaigue, Jackson Fellow & Tutor in History

12.00 What is the Future of Higher Education? Sir David Norgrove (1967, Modern History), Chair of UK National Statistics Authority

1.00pm Lunch in the Fitzhugh Auditorium

2.15pm Opt between: “From One Bubble to Another: The Transition from Secondary to Tertiary Education” – Fiona Boulton (1985, PGCE) Head of Guildford High School
or “Aspiration, Attainment, and Access: a straight-A admissions dilemma for Oxford” – Chris Ballinger, Academic Dean

3.00pm Break

3.15pm Special Guest Naomi Kellman, Founder of Target Oxbridge will discuss the inspirational scheme that aims to help black African and Caribbean students, and students of mixed race increase their chances of getting into Oxford or Cambridge.
