Sir Sydney Kentridge KCMG, QC, BA Witwatersrand, MA Oxf

Sir Syndey Kentridge was born in Johannesburg in 1922. After serving in the South African armed forces during World War II, he graduated from Exeter College with a first class degree in Jurisprudence. Subsequently, he worked as an anti-apartheid lawyer in South Africa, representing Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tuto, and Albert Luthuli amongst others. He was made an Honorary Fellow of Exeter College in 1986.
