Dr Laura M. Castelli

Stipendiary Lecturer in Philosophy

Laura M. Castelli completed her studies at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (Italy), where she received her doctorate in 2008.

Her main area of research is Aristotle's metaphysics and logic, but she is also interested in the contemporary philosophical debate, in particular in formal ontology and logic. She is currently working (and planning to work for at least some more years to come) on argumentation theory and its history, from Greek dialectic to contemporary "informal" logic.

She teaches almost all papers in Ancient Philosophy (Plato: Republic, in Greek and in translation; Meno and Euthyphro; Sophist and Theaetetus; Aristotle: Nicomachean Ethics, in Greek and in translation; Physics; Latin Philosophy) and Elementary Logic, General Philosophy and Moral Philosophy for Prelims and Mods.
