COVID Catering Arrangements for Staff

We have adapted our service to ensure you still receive the expected high level of quality and service, we want you to return with the knowledge and confidence that we are working hard to ensure the safety of our team and you.

Enhanced Safety, Cleaning and Personal Hygiene Measures:

  • We have introduced a Hand Washing Station outside of the hall and additional Hand Sanitizing stations at key points on both sites.
  • Our already rigorous cleaning protocols have been reviewed and enhanced, and our colleagues have received additional training and essential PPE to ensure their own wellbeing as well as yours.
  • Face Coverings are to be worn in all catering areas until seated.
  • A queue management system, distancing markings on the floor, and clear signposting will be set up at both catering outlets.
  • In Turl Street, the queue will be outside under a protected corridor and into the marquee.
  • In Cohen Quad, the queue will begin near rear stairs along towards the special reading rooms.
  • Tables and seating capacity will be reduced with recommended spacing for socially distanced seating areas. Table sneeze guards and demarcated seating have been installed. A green tick on a place means it is available and sanitized.
  • All food and drink will be served on environmentally friendly disposable plates/boxes, with disposable cups, cutlery and napkins. We encourage you to bring your own reusable tubs and water bottles.
  • We also ask you to dispose of all rubbish personally at the waste stations provided.
  • Water Coolers have had foot controls or cup push lips installed to reduce any risk of cross contamination.
  • All surfaces within catering areas will be regularly sanitised and the Dining Hall, Dakota Café and Marque will be deep cleaned at the end of each dining session.
  • A cashless payment system will be in place at both sites.
  • We encourage you to take your food and dine at the additional outside seating which has been installed outside in the Fellows Garden, The Undercroft Bar and North Quad.
  • Additional overflow seating will be available in the Marquee at Turl Street if the weather is inclement

 

We appreciate that you have time restrictions in regards to your lunch breaks so we have introduced a cold lunch pre-order service.

You can pre-order plated salad (Meat, Fish, Vegetarian or Vegan) or a Baguette with a cold drink, crisps and sweets/chocolate/snack bar which we will have ready for you to collect from the Undercroft Bar between 11.30 and 1.30pm at Turl Street or behind the servery at the Dakota Café. If you wish to join us for a hot lunch at Turl Street then we have opened 15 minutes earlier at 11.45am for SCR and Staff, Students will be able to eat from 12 noon.

Hot lunch at the Dakota Café is available as normal.

We do ask that if you arrive after 12 then you join the queue and do not overtake students already queuing.

SCR Arrangements

Lunch

We will not be providing Butler Service in the Old Bursary during Michaelmas term but the room will be reserved for SCR users wishing to have their lunch there. Bins will be provided for the disposable containers, cutlery and trays.

We appreciate that you have time restrictions in regards to your lunch breaks so we have introduced a cold lunch pre-order service.

If you wish to join us for a hot lunch at Turl Street then from 0th week we will open 15 minutes earlier at 11.45am for SCR and Staff, Students will be able to eat from 12 noon. Please sign up via the SCR tick sheet or via Upay in the normal manner. Cut off is 10.30am on the day. The sign up sheet will now be kept in the hall entrance.

Hot lunch at the Dakota Café is available as normal.

We do ask that if you arrive after 12 then you join the queue and do not over take students already queuing.

Dinner

We have also removed the served dinner in the evenings Monday to Friday, you are more than welcome to come along at any point between 5.30pm and 7.30pm and take your food to High Table, the body of the Hall or at other dining points.

 

Due to social distancing restrictions there is limited seating available in the Old Bursary, there is additional seating in the Dining Hall, Marquee and outside seating in the Front Quad and Fellows Garden.

Dinner 17.30-19.00

Hot meat main, veg main, pudding, pasta, soup, side dishes, fruit, yogurt, cold drinks.

Brunch 11.00-13.30 Saturday and Sunday

Selection of normal breakfast items with additional cooked breakfast selection.

 

Dakota Cafe

Breakfast 8.00-10.00

Lunch 12.00-15.00

Selection of pre packed salads and baguettes available on island, hot meat main, veg main, soup, side dishes, fruit, yogurt, cold drinks.

We appreciate that guidelines are changing rapidly so we will review these services in line with government advice.
