Do you have a natural passion for creating an exceptional customer experience? Have you worked in a food service role previously? If so, you could be the person that we’re looking for.

Set in the heart of Oxford, Exeter College (part of the University of Oxford) is an outstanding venue combining a traditional college setting with a modern events and catering business. We are currently seeking to appoint a Food & Beverage Assistant to assist in the preparation and service of food to students, staff, weddings, conference delegates, and other users of the College.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small and friendly team, which is committed to the highest standards of quality and food hygiene. The role is busy, but the variety of functions/ events to which the College caters means that the role is always interesting, and the breadth of events will also enable you to gain excellent experience across a wide range of areas in hospitality.

As an organisation, we also seek to develop our staff, and a number of our current supervisors have been promoted from with our existing team. This position therefore offers real potential for career development.

We are looking for someone who is friendly and confident, with the ability to engage customers from a wide range of backgrounds. Personality is therefore as important as experience. You will also be a strong team-player, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure.

In return, we pay £25,480 per annum pro-rata (equivalent to £12.25 per hour), as well as offering a range of generous benefits including 30 days of annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), access to excellent pension and healthcare/ dental schemes, and a free meal whilst on duty.

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, normally worked across a mix of daytime, evening and weekends.

This is a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2024, to provide cover during another member of staff’s period of maternity leave.
