Exeter College is one of the oldest colleges within the University of Oxford, with a reputation for being small and friendly, whilst also being a busy institution. We have three sites – one on Turl Street site in central Oxford, one on Walton Street (the Cohen Quad), and one on the Iffley Road – in addition to some properties on the Abingdon Road which are rented to students.
The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Housekeeping team at our Turl Street site and Abingdon Road properties, in order to provide a high-quality service to users (a mix of student accommodation, offices, and teaching rooms). In particular, the postholder will undertake all aspects of supervising 17 staff, as well as monitoring overall cleaning standards, overseeing stock management, ensuring that outsourced services are carried out in a timely fashion, and deputising for the Accommodation Manager when they are away.
This busy and varied position would suit someone with a background in Housekeeping (ideally within a residential student environment), who has a ‘can-do’ attitude and a professional manner. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, as are experience of supervising staff, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to successfully manage a constantly changing set of demands and deadlines in a calm and efficient manner.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week, normally worked Monday to Friday (but with occasional weekend work when required).
The rate of pay is £14.31 per hour, which equates to c. £27,904 per annum. In addition to salary, the College offers a range of benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, contributory pension scheme, and a free meal whilst on duty.
