Exeter College (part of the University of Oxford) is seeking to appoint a Health, Safety & Maintenance Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a busy and varied role, which will both oversee day-to-day health & safety activities and also support the Buildings Manager as a key interface between the Maintenance team and its customers within the College.

Within the role, the key duties will be to coordinate and/ or manage a range of health & safety activities, including: risk assessments; staff induction sessions; equipment testing programmes; statutory testing programmes; helping to develop and implement the College’s health & safety relates policies/ procedures; and ensuring that accurate records are maintained. In addition, the postholder will support the Buildings Manager in the administration of the Maintenance department, and in managing the operation of an online maintenance reporting system.

This post would suit a proactive and solution-oriented individual, who has a strong customer-focus and who is highly organised and accurate in their work. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of the organisation. Strong IT skills are a must, as is a good applied knowledge of health and safety through NEBOSH qualification; some practical experience in a health & safety environment would be an advantage.

Training can be provided to the successful candidate, as appropriate.

Salary will be within a range £26,341 to £31,406 per annum, depending on experience, skills and qualifications. Benefits include an annual leave entitlement of 30 days holiday (plus 8 public/bank holidays), contributory pension, free meal whilst on duty, and optional membership of subsidised dental and/ or healthcare schemes.
