Exonian Jonathan Wilkinson joins Canadian Cabinet

Congratulations to Jonathan Wilkinson (1988, PPE) on his appointment to the Cabinet of Canada as Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard.

Mr Wilkinson entered the Canadian Parliament in 2015 as a Liberal MP for North Vancouver and began his ministerial career in that year as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

Upon his appointment Mr Wilkinson commented, ‘I’m eager to continue building upon the great work accomplished by [my predecessor] and look forward to ensuring Canada’s three oceans, coasts, waterways and fisheries are protected and remain healthy for generations to come.’
