Nick Saunders represents Exeter in the 131st Varsity Match in golf

Congratulations to Nick Saunders (2019, EMBA), who was part of the Blues team that beat Cambridge in the 131st Varsity Match in golf. Despite disruptions to this year’s sporting calendar, the match was able to go ahead at the end of August. The event took place at the world-famous golf course, Muirfield, where the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers ensured that a socially distanced version of the match was able to go ahead. Despite a narrow defeat in the ‘Dinner Match’, traditionally played on the eve of the main event itself, Oxford took the all important win on the day, comfortably defeating Cambridge 10.5 – 4.5.

‘It was an absolute honour to represent Exeter College and OUGC at Muirfield’, Nick comments. We hope to see him playing again at the 132nd match next year at Aldeburgh.
