Arranging a visit

Visiting Oxford

The Open Days are an ideal time to visit Oxford, but our Schools Liaison Officer is happy to welcome groups of prospective applicants to Exeter College throughout the year. Our Year 12 programme typically includes an admissions talks, a tour of the College and a meeting with current undergraduates. Additional sessions on particular topics can also often be arranged. If you would like to bring a group of year 9, 10 or 11 students to Oxford please see the Exeter Taster Days information.

You are of course very welcome to come and look around the College informally. Exeter is normally open to the public daily from 2pm to 5pm. However, it is not possible to arrange to meet with tutors or current students except by attending an Open Day, or a formal school visit.

Visits to your School / College

The Schools Liaison Officer is pleased to visit schools or colleges to talk to any Sixth Form students who have the potential to apply to Oxford, or to talk to younger pupils about the possibility of applying to Oxford. Sessions are flexible and can cover many different topics. The format of each visit can be adapted to meet the needs of the audience, and ideally talks may be given to different year groups on the same day.

Exeter College is proud of the contacts we already have with a wide range of schools and colleges, and we are always especially keen to work with schools without a history of sending candidates to Oxford.

If you feel your school or college would benefit from a visit of this kind, please contact the Schools Liaison Officer to arrange a mutually convenient date. In general there is a minimum group size of 20 for any talk (there is no maximum), so it may be appropriate for schools and colleges in the same area to join together to host an event. It would be helpful if you could give some indication of the form you would like the visit to take at this initial stage - for example, if a particular subject area is to be featured, or an additional 'higher education' talk for younger pupils is required.
