Having recently graduated from Merton College, Oxford with a BA in English, I’m now the Access and Participation Officer here at Exeter. This involves collaborating with schools and other groups, mainly in Exeter’s link region of the South West, to organise and host a range of outreach activities which aim to empower students and increase access to the University.
During my time as an undergraduate, I worked as a Student Ambassador and gained experience of interacting with a range of prospective students and creating a welcoming environment for all. As a first-generation university student and having attended a non-selective state school, I understand how overwhelming higher education, and the process of getting there, can be. I’m excited to take on this role and to work closely with schools and communities to demonstrate to young people from under-represented backgrounds that they could find their place at Oxford.
