Daniel O’Driscoll is a Lecturer in History teaching a number of papers across the Preliminary and Final Honours Schools, including Foreign Texts: Vicens Vives, Optional Subject: Conquest and Colonisation (Spain and America in the Sixteenth Century), Further Subject: Iberian Global Century and European and World History VI: 1500-1700. He completed his undergraduate degree in History and Modern Languages at Jesus College, Oxford and his MSt in Global and Imperial History at University College, Oxford. He is currently a DPhil candidate at Jesus College. His research deals with the intersection of crime and colonial governance in the borderlands of the early modern Spanish and Portuguese empires, with a particular focus on Mexico and Brazil.
