Exeter Fellow presents research at leading global AI and management conferences

Exeter College Fellow and Associate Professor of Management Science at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Dr Kejia Hu has been a prominent voice at several major international conferences and forums. 

Dr. Hu’s research focuses on human–AI collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and responsible innovation. She works closely with organisations to understand how intelligent systems can support decision-making in practice, with applications spanning supply chains, healthcare, consulting, education, and finance. Her collaborators include global companies such as PWC, Toyota, Nissan, Dell, TikTok, CATL, Alibaba, Baidu, and L’Oréal. 

Dr Hu’s recent series of international engagements began in Spring 2025 with a journey through Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, and Guangzhou for “deep academic exchanges” and “thoughtful industry dialogues” on the future of Human-AI interaction. 

In May, at the POMS 2025 Annual Conference in Atlanta, Dr Hu took a leading role by chairing the “Human-AI Interaction” session, hosting a panel on “Generative AI in Business,” and contributing to an eDebate on Agentic AI. 

In August, she was appointed a Fellow at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study (TUM IAS) in Germany. At TUM, she will continue her research on “human–AI collaborative decision-making” and how to better integrate human expertise with algorithmic capabilities. 

Most recently, Dr Hu was an invited speaker at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai. She participated in the “AI Night Talk Roundtable” and the “WAIC UP Night Debate,” discussing the impact of AI on human cognition and the “talent replacement crisis.” 

Dr Hu has received multiple recognitions for her work, including being named to the Poets & Quants Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professors list. She also serves as Vice Chair of INFORMS Service Science and holds editorial and advisory roles with leading academic journals and professional bodies. The College warmly congratulates Dr Hu on this series of significant academic and industry contributions.
