I am a linguist working in the Language & Brain Laboratory which is part of Oxford’s Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics. My research focusses on the processing of words in both a first (L1) and a second language (L2). More recently, I have also been working on speech production. Both lines of research aim to advance our understanding of how words are stored in and accessed from our mental lexicon. In my research, I use a range of methods including electroencephalography (EEG) and eye-tracking.
At Exeter College, I teach General Linguistics and Psycholinguistics.
I am also interested in making linguistic findings (theoretical and experimental) accessible to English language teachers in order to bridge linguistic research and classroom practice.
