Exeter College is seeking to appoint a Stipendiary Lecturer in Earth Sciences. This is a fixed-term role, tenable from 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2026 in the first instance, but with the possibility of renewal for up to a further two years.
The Lecturer will be required to undertake 72 ‘weighted’ hours per annum of tutorial or class teaching of undergraduates of the College (or, by exchange, undergraduates of other Colleges). In addition, they will be required to set and mark College examinations, to participate as required in the undergraduate Admissions process and Access/ Outreach activities, and to participate fully in the running of Earth Sciences within the College.
The postholder will give tutorials in aspects of the Earth Sciences course that complement the expertise of the College’s current Fellows in Earth Sciences. Suitable topics include:
- Low temperature (geo) chemistry
- Climate
- Sedimentology
The salary for this appointment will be within a range £8,284 – £9,154 per annum. In addition, a range of other generous benefits are available, as set out in the Further Particulars.
