Exeter welcomes Amelia Jackson Society

On Saturday 7 May members of the Amelia Jackson Society gathered for their annual meeting and luncheon at Exeter College. The Society, founded in 2013, enables Exeter to thank and recognise those alumni and Friends who have included the College in their will.

The day began with a welcome from the Rector, Sir Rick Trainor, followed by geophysics lecture entitled: ‘Tracking down how the earth’s core loses its heat,’ given by Professor Karin Sigloch, Exeter Fellow in Earth Sciences.

Guests then enjoyed lunch in Hall followed by a choice between a walking tour of Oxford given by Marie Ruiz, wife of Emeritus Fellow in Engineering Professor Carlos Ruiz, and an organ recital by organ scholar Tim Muggeridge.

The day was a great success, enjoyed by around 50 legators.

Exeter remains very grateful to all those who have included the College in their will and warmly encourages new members of the Society.

The event was also a chance to catch up with friends and meet other Exeter alumni
