Alan Bennett to appear on BBC4

This Friday, 8 May, is Alan Bennett’s (1954, Modern History) 80th birthday. To mark the occasion BBC4 is broadcasting Alan Bennett at 80: Bennett Meets Hytner and two of Mr Bennett’s Talking Heads monologues.

The interview conducted by director Nicholas Hytner starts BBC4’s Alan Bennett birthday party, heralding a week of repeats of some of his finest television work.

The interview, which is interspersed with clips of Mr Bennett’s television productions, airs on BBC4 at 9pm on Saturday 9 May.
