Alan Cherry wins the GA’s Curry MSc Prize

Congratulations to recent graduate Alan Cherry (2009, Earth Sciences), who has been awarded the Geological Association’s Curry MSc prize for his MSc thesis entitled “Structural and Metamorphic Evolution of the Lower Crust Granulites in the Northern Oman/U.A.E. mountains”.

Up to three prizes of £1000 are available annually to Masters students in a subject relevant to earth sciences who have produced a dissertation of outstanding quality. Nominations are made by university departments by invitation. According to the panel, Mr Cherry’s work stood out for its succinctness overall, and the quality of the tectonic evolution chapter in particular.
