Alumni and students enjoy Fortescue Society Dinner
Students, alumni and Fellows gathered to enjoy the annual Fortescue Society Dinner on Saturday 7 February 2015.
This year Exeter welcomed guest speaker Christina Blacklaws (1985, Jurisprudence) who spoke on “Women on the Verge of a Legal Breakthrough”. You can listen to Christina’s talk by clicking here [32Mb file]. You can also view the photographs from the event here.
The Fortescue Society welcomes students and alumni who read Law or Jurisprudence, or those who work in the legal profession. It is named after Exonian John Fortescue, who was Chief Justice of the King’s Bench of England in the 15th Century and whose works have been considered influential in the history of British constitutional thought. The society is very active among the student body and it hosts various speakers throughout the year, as well as hosting the annual alumni dinner.
This year’s event was generously sponsored by the global law firm Jones Day.
