Alumni enjoy carol service in Exeter College Chapel

On Saturday 16 December alumni were welcomed to Exeter College Chapel for a special Christmas Carol service. The service was led by Exeter’s chaplain, the Rev’d Andrew Allen, and included readings from alumni Richard Jackson (1971, Jurisprudence) and Alice Bloom (2012, English). The carols included On Christmas night all Christians sing and A boy is born in Bethlehem, sung by Exeter’s choir, and the full congregation joining together to sing O come, all ye faithful, O little town of Bethlehem, While shepherds watched their flocks by night, In the bleak midwinter, and Hark! The herald angels sing.

After the service guests were treated to mince pies and coffee in hall.

The service was extremely popular and many guests were keen to know when the alumni carol service would be held next year. News on that will be shared in 2018. Meanwhile alumni are reminded that they are welcome to attend normal chapel services, which take place during term time. For a schedule of services click here.
