Alumnus Frank Vibert publishes Rethinking the Separation of Powers
Frank Vibert, Exeter College alumnus (1960, PPE), has published his latest book, Rethinking the Separation of Powers: Democratic Resilience in Troubled Times, which forms part of Edward Elgar Publishing’s Rethinking Political Science and International Studies series. This is Vibert’s eighth book to be released and sees him address central problems in modern government.
Exploring the evolution and resilience of systems for the separation of powers, the book rethinks how different architectures can defend democracies against adverse shocks and help them adapt to change. Released in August of this year it has received multiple positive reviews, with Kalypso Nicolaïdis from the European University Institute in Italy remarking: “Frank Vibert brilliantly explores the old promise and new potential of a simple idea”. Rethinking the Separation of Powers is an essential read for students and academics wishing to deepen their knowledge of political science, law, behavioural science, social psychology, and philosophy.
