Alumnus Mark Chatterton publishes Britain’s Motorways

Following his previous publications, Britain’s Road Tunnels and Parkway Railway Stations, alumnus and transport historian Mark Chatterton (1976, Theology) takes another look at Britain’s infrastructure – this time through the lens of motorways.

British motorways span over 2,000 miles and are used by millions every day. In his book, Chatterton brings together information about the history, construction, routes and workings of every motorway in Britain. The book is supported by Chatterton’s images and observations, generated from his extensive travels. It provides unique insight into the marvels of civil engineering that are motorways.

Britain’s Motorways will be published by Amberley Publishing on 15 August and is available for pre-order.
