Exeter Plus Year 12 Programme

Exeter Plus is an Access and Outreach programme at Exeter College, Oxford for Year 12 pupils (or equivalent) who are interested in applying to selective universities including the University of Oxford.

The programme was established to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in applying to Oxford, combining both in person visits to Exeter College alongside virtual sessions. This programme piloted in 2022 and is now going into its 3rd year of running.

The 6-month programme starts off with an introduction to Oxford and Exeter college including tours and workshops, later sessions then delve into more detail about the application process and give the students the opportunity to explore topics related to the degree(s) they are interested in studying at University. Throughout the programme the attendees have the opportunity to speak with Exeter College Staff, Student Ambassadors and Tutors.

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and allow me to meet some brilliant people who I intend to cherish for life” – Exeter Plus participant

We cover the travel costs upfront and offer free lunch to all attendees. We also run the in-person visits on Saturdays and the virtual sessions out of school time.

We particularly encourage applications from students who have apprehensions about applying to Oxford and would like to find out more.
