College welcomes new Chaplain

Exeter College officially welcomed its new Chaplain, the Reverend Andrew Allen, on 1 October 2013.

Reverend Allen read Jurisprudence with Law Studies in Europe at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and was ordained in 2011. He has been assistant curate at the United Benefice of Aston Clinton, Buckland and Drayton Beauchamp.

His academic interests include how liturgy reflects identity, and in particular how the hierarchy of the Church of England processed the changes of the Oxford Movement in the early 20th century. In Germany he worked on a Europe-wide project to process the impact of the Holocaust on secondary education. He has also expressed his enthusiasm to strengthen links with European Churches, especially the Old Catholics and Protestant Church in Germany.
