Dr Julie Maxwell to read new novel at Blackwells

Dr Julie Maxwell, Fellow in English, will read from and discuss her novel, These Are Our Children, in Blackwell’s bookshop on Wednesday 9 April at 7 pm.

These Are Our Children is a hospital drama about pregnancy, childbirth, and miscarriage. It is also the story of a brilliant but ethically controversial breakthrough in the medical science of neonatology. Dr Maxwell will talk about the inspiration and the research behind the novel; and the depiction of science and medicine in contemporary fiction more broadly.
