Economist journalists discuss tensions in east Asia at Rector’s seminar
Two journalists from The Economist recently spoke at Exeter College on tensions in east Asia as part of the Rector’s seminar series.
Dominic Ziegler (Asia editor) and Rob Gifford (China editor) spoke about the implementation of China’s new Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) and the possible response of nearby countries such as Japan and South Korea. They also discussed the history of the region and reflected on the importance of America’s role.
