Exeter alumna appointed High Court judge

Congratulations to Exeter alumna Mavis Chionh (1988, Jurisprudence) on her appointment as High Court judge in Singapore.

The Singaporean Prime Minister’s Office recognised her extensive legal experience, commenting that Ms Chionh has “accumulated considerable and varied legal experience in both criminal and civil matters during her postings to the Supreme Court, State Courts and AGC”.

After joining the legal service in 1991, Ms Chionh was appointed as Senior Counsel in 2015 and Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court in 2018. Her appointment as High Court Judge will come into effect from 12th March 2021.
