Exeter Alumnus Jeremy Pocklington (1992, Modern History) Honoured in New Year Honours

An Exeter alumnus has been honoured in the recent New Year Honours. On December 28th 2019, Jeremy Pocklington (1992, Modern History) was appointed by the Queen as a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath for public service.

After joining HM Treasury in 1997, Mr Pocklington went on to hold positions such as Deputy Director of the Treasury and Director of the Economic and Domestic secretariat.

Mr Pocklington had been Director General, Energy and Security in the department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy since December 2016 until August 2018, when he was appointed Director General for housing. As DS at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, he has been partaking in the building of homes according to the country’s needs, which he has described as an “exciting challenge.”

The College extends its sincere congratulations to Mr Pocklington, and is very proud of our alumni and of their achievements in diverse sectors.
