Exeter alumnus to publish The Heroism of Queen Victoria
Gerard Noel (1944, Modern History) will publish The Heroism of Queen Victoria this month.
Porphyria is an unpleasant disease which manifests itself in nervous disorders or skin rashes, or both. That Queen Victoria should have suffered from porphyria as well as being a carrier of haemophilia seems almost too cruel but this is the possibility which Gerard Noel explores in his new book The Heroism of Queen Victoria.
Gerard Noel’s other books include biographies of Queen Victoria’s daughter Princess Alice, Queen Ena of Spain, Pope Paul VI, Harold Wilson, Cardinal Hume and Senator Barry Goldwater.
The book is available to order on www.amazon.co.uk.
