Exeter College alumna Tessa Vincent publishes new climate solutions book

Exeter College alumna Tessa Vincent (2021, Master of Public Policy) has published a new book bringing together perspectives from across Aotearoa New Zealand on tackling climate change and building a more sustainable future. 

Kiwis in Climate – Voices for Climate Solutions in Aotearoa New Zealand is a collection of contributions from more than 30 New Zealanders, including scientists, business leaders, politicians, community advocates, and climate experts. The book explores practical and ambitious approaches to climate action, highlighting how solutions can deliver benefits including cleaner energy, job creation, and healthier communities. 

Ms Vincent edited the volume as part of her work with the Kiwis in Climate network. The book argues that New Zealand is well placed to contribute global leadership on climate solutions and showcases examples of progress already taking place across the country. 

Drawing together voices from a wide range of sectors, Kiwis in Climate examines both the challenges posed by climate change and the opportunities created by the transition to a low-carbon future. Contributors discuss topics including renewable energy, sustainable food systems, climate policy, business innovation, education, and indigenous approaches to environmental stewardship. 

In her introduction, Ms Vincent writes that the book aims to “share stories of progress and offer practical visions for climate action,” emphasising the importance of collective action in addressing the climate crisis. The collection seeks to provide readers with a sense of agency and optimism while encouraging discussion about the future of climate leadership in Aotearoa New Zealand.
