Exeter College students recognised at 2026 Sherrington Talks

Exeter College students Rea Tresa (2023, DPhil Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics) and Dillon Lim (2023, DPhil Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics) have been recognised as runners-up in their respective categories at the 2026 Sherrington Talks, an annual competition celebrating outstanding doctoral research in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG). 

Held on 5 and 12 June, the Sherrington Talks challenge DPhil students to communicate the essence of their thesis in just five minutes, before taking questions from the audience. The event showcases the breadth of research taking place across the department while encouraging participants to present complex scientific ideas in an engaging and accessible way. 

Dillon Lim was named runner-up in the Cardiac Science, Metabolism and Respiratory Science category for his presentation, Cardiac responses to intravenous iron therapy. Dillon is supervised by Associate Professor Samira Lakhal-Littleton and Associate Professor Nick Talbot. 

Rea Tresa received runner-up honours in the Bionanoscience category for her presentation, Developing a Vasculogenic and Immunomodulatory Delivery Platform for Stem Cell-derived Beta Cell Clusters as a Therapy for Type 1 Diabetes. Rea is supervised by Exeter College Supernumerary Fellow Professor Dame Molly Stevens and Dr Jonathan Wojciechowski.
