Exeter Fellow recognised in New Year Honours list

Exeter College Fellow in English, Professor Nandini Das, has been awarded an OBE for her services to Interdisciplinary Research in the Humanities and to Public Engagement. Professor Das was one of seven members of Oxford University to receive an Honour.  

Professor Das has recently received acclaim for her book Courting India: England, Mughal India, and the Origins of Empire, which was published by Bloomsbury in 2023 and won the 2023 British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding. She was also nominated for the prestigious Wolfson History Prize. Professor Das is Vice President of the Hakluyt Society, a member of the UK Committee on Research Integrity, and a frequent presenter and contributor on radio and television programmes.  

Exeter College sends warmest congratulations to Professor Das on a well-deserved achievement.
