Exeter Fellow’s work cited in major judgment of the Supreme Court

A book by Exeter College Fellow, Professor Philippa Webb, was cited four times by the UK Supreme Court in a major judgment issued this month.

The judgment, on a duty on domestic courts to give effect to State immunity even if the State does not appear in the proceedings and raise the point itself, drew four times on The Law of State Immunity (OUP, 2015) by Professor Webb and Lady Fox KC.

A Fellow by Special Election, Philippa Webb is Professor of Public International Law at the Blavatnik School of Government. Her research interests span all of Public International Law, including international dispute settlement, human rights, international organisations law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law.
