Exeter formally closes its 700th anniversary celebrations

Exeter College’s 700th anniversary celebrations have formally closed with a lecture from Rector Sir Rick Trainor at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, and a celebratory dinner at the House of Lords hosted by the Rt Hon Lord Tyler CBE (1960, Modern History).

The lecture was entitledĀ “What has held the UK together and might keep it united in the future? A historian’s perspective.”

This hugely popular event was enjoyed by alumni, Fellows, staff and current students. It marks the end of over a year of events celebrating the septcentenary of Exeter College, founded by Walter de StapeldonĀ on 4 April 1314.
