Exeter remembers Gordon Robertson (1938, Jurisprudence)

Honorary Fellow Robert Gordon Robertson (1938, Jurisprudence), PC CC FRSC, has passed away.

Mr Robertson was a Rhodes Scholar at Exeter before entering the Canadian Civil Service. He enjoyed a distinguished career and was named Companion of the Order of Canada for his outstanding service to the country in 1976.

The Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, issued a statement on  16 January calling Robertson ‘one of the most influential public servants of his day.’ He added, ‘Mr Robertson will be remembered as a great Canadian and a devoted public servant.’

Mr Robertson died on 15 January, aged 95.
