Exeter remembers Shri Krishna Pathak

Exeter College announces with great sadness the death in Dubai of one of its most generous benefactors, Shri Krishna Pathak.

Mr Pathak, a businessman from Dubai, was introduced to the College by Mr Sathi Alur, a friend of the Rector. He gave the College a magnificent scholarship for students from India, and one of our new buildings at Exeter House, our graduate campus, which is named for him. Mr Pathak was born in India and educated partly in Britain, at Glasgow University. He enjoyed his association with Exeter College, and with the students who benefited from his philanthropy.

The Rector, Frances Cairncross, said, “We will all miss Krishna Pathak’s shrewd judgment and enthusiasm for the education of the young. His legacy is the support his scholarship has given and will continue to give to some of India’s most promising graduate students. That is a truly wonderful memorial.”
