Exeter to launch new Summer School Programme
The summer of 2017 will see an exciting addition to the College’s portfolio of vacation activities as Exeter launches its Exeter College Summer Programme. This is a unique new offering which is set to break new ground in Oxford.
Modelled on Oxford undergraduate teaching, the six-week Programme has been designed to provide an experience of some of the best that the College can offer. College Fellows and academics from the University of Oxford will deliver a high quality, discussion-based, research-driven academic experience through a wide range of academic courses reflecting the current expertise in Oxford. The Programme will be based at the Cohen Quadrangle, ensuring incoming students enjoy an authentic, immersive experience of collegiate life.
We are expecting up to 90 well qualified international students from the USA, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Drawing on her experience as Peter Thompson Fellow in English, and Director of the Bread Loaf School of English in Oxford, Jeri Johnson has been appointed Academic Director of the Summer Programme. Jeri comments:
“We are thrilled to be offering here at Exeter College such an academically ambitious summer programme for high-achieving international undergraduates. We hope it will give such students a taste of the true Oxford experience: a rigorous academic programme comprising tutorials, seminars, lectures together with a culturally rich mix of distinguished guest lectures.”
We are anticipating considerable interest in this Programme from students, as well as College members and alumni who are very welcome to contact us for further information:
