Exeter’s rowers perform well at Summer Eights

Exeter College Boat Club had a strong overall performance in this year’s Summer Eights races in fifth week.

The men’s first boat moved from 13th to 10th in division two, bumping three times and rowing over once. They are now just behind Turl Street rivals Lincoln.

The men’s second crew moved from sixth to fifth in division five and, like the first crew, ended the week without being bumped.

The women’s first team had mixed fortunes. They began the week strongly, bumping Worcester on day one and rowing over on day two, but unfortunately ended the week being bumped on consecutive days. They now sit in 11th place in division two.

Meanwhile the women’s second boat had a seesaw week, bumping twice and being bumped on two occasions as well. They now sit in third place in division six.
