Matt Hancock MP (1996, PPE) has been appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. He was promoted by Prime Minister Theresa May from his previous Cabinet role as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Mr Hancock posted on Twitter: “Loved the last two years [at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport] and thank you to all the brilliant digital dynamos, artists and mission-driven civil servants who worked so hard to achieve so much.
“Really looking forward to joining [the Department of Health and Social Care] at such an important time for our great NHS. I can’t wait to get started.”
Many congratulations to Mr Hancock on his new appointment.
