Exonian publishes memoir of war years
Exonian Jay Gruenfeld (1949, PPE) has published a memoir of his time in combat during the Second World War.
Jay Gruenfeld’s war ended on May 15, 1945 with his fifth and final wound. He was 20 years old, a veteran of two campaigns. After four months and seven days of combat, he was coming to the end of what he calls “the greatest, most enriching time” of his life. Commissioned in Battle: A Combat Infantryman in the Pacific, WWII is his autobiographical account of that time.
