Exonians recognised in University of Oxford’s Recognition of Distinction Awards
The University of Oxford’s Recognition of Distinction Scheme allows all those employed by the University in academic or senior research roles to apply for conferment of the full title of Professor at the University. Exeter College is delighted that three members of the College – Catherine Green, Fadi Issa and Stuart Lee – have been recognised at this year’s awards.
Catherine Green, a Fellow by Special Election at Exeter College who works within the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Medicine and is studying the processes that ensure the maintenance of genetic and epigenetic stability during DNA replication, has been conferred the title of Professor of Clinical Biomanufacturing. Members of the Exeter community will be familiar with Professor Green’s pivotal role in the development of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, for which she was awarded an OBE in 2021.
Fadi Issa is a lecturer in Physiology at Exeter College and a consultant plastic, reconstructive and burns surgeon within the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. He has been conferred the title of Professor of Translational Immunology.
Stuart Lee is an honorary member of the Senior Common Room at Exeter College and a member of the English Faculty within Oxford University. He has been conferred the title of Professor of English Literature.
Exeter College extends our warmest congratulations to Professor Green, Professor Issa, and Professor Lee for this well-deserved award.
